Of Meaning...
by Derrick Dixon © 2004

Walking through the looking glass, I turned around to view my past.
Broken hearts and broken dreams makes me wonder why ...

It seems strange to me to come so far and still not know who we are.
I guess you and I will spend this day contemplating words to say, …

...about this meaning.

I was taught, when I was young, love always walks and never runs.
Has it been a waste on me? I truly wanted for it, ..

To be, right here inside my heart, a broken-home with scattered parts.
Walls between us, standing tough,
not to well, but well enough, …

...for its meaning.

Its not the worst or even close. I won’t accept the fate of those,
who just lie down in lovers lane with nothing left to give,…

I came, all this way on faith. Not knowing if I had enough, to get where I am going.
Each fall of night I stop to rest and lift the weight up off my chest, …

...by its meaning

Walking through the looking glass I close the view that shows my past.
"Broken hearts and broken dreams", I no longer wonder what it means.

"A
lways walk and never run", a brand new life has begun,…

...with meaning.

'Till the end
By Derrick D. Dixon © 2004
(Sung by Carl Kelley)

There’s been good times and bad times and many times I wondered.
When the end comes, should it come, it would come to soon.

Once you stumbled, left humbled, your tears came and fell like rain.
But I caught them all, for after all, when my tears fall, you do the same.

The morning sun will rise and I won’t be able to see your eyes.
If it meant my own demise, oh how I wish you could stay.

As I say this, I will miss, the gentle kiss, you give to me.
Each and every day, in your own way, you'll love me, 'till the end.

The evening sun will fall and when only silence answers my call.
Yes, I would sacrifice it all, just to hear you once again.

As I say this, I deeply miss, the gentle kiss, you gave to me.
Each and every day, in the special way, you loved me,

‘till the end.
